Penn State’s Mike Wanamaker throws a pitch Saturday against Michigan at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Wanamker allowed two hits and one run in seven innings in the first game of the doubleheader, but the Wolverines swept the Nittany Lions 1-0, 6-3 The CDT filed this story on the Nits doubleheader loss.

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State’s offense struggled Saturday as the Nittany Lions dropped both games of a baseball doubleheader to Michigan 1-0, 6-3 before 2,026 fans at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The Nittany Lions (8-17, 2-6 Big Ten) recorded just seven hits in the two games against the Wolverines (17-7, 7-0), who are ranked No. 22 by Baseball America.
