PSU gets much needed 10-1 win over Michigan.
They broke the game open in the fourth. PSU was nursing a 3-1 lead and Michigan hurler Ben Johnson had just retired the first two batters in the inning on about three pitches. Louie Picconi came to bat and managed to earn a walk from Johnson. Lou was the first of nine straight batters to reach base, six of whom came around to score, and PSU took a commanding 9-1 lead.
It’s not that much of a rarity to see a team bat around in an inning but it certainly is a rarity to see every guy in the lineup manage to get on base in an inning, and that’s exactly what PSU pulled off in the fourth.
Ryan Stobart got the win to improve his record to 1-2.
