Blackburn signs with Traverse City Beach Bums
Joe signs on with the independent Frontier League Traverse City (MI) Beach Bums. Blackburn will get a chance to showcase his skills and maybe sign a free agent contract with a major league program later.

For the diehard baseball fan
It’s been over two weeks since Penn State’s season ended and the MLB draft seemed awfully disappointing with only one Nittany Lion drafted. The good news is that the start of the Spikes season is only a bit more than a week away. The even better news is that I’ve started a blog dedicated to following them this season. Nate hits a few bumps in the road
Nate hit a roadblock in his comeback attempt in Altoona tonight. He lasted only two innings and gave up tree earned runs on five hits while walking two and striking out no one. The game is still in progress but Connecticut trails the Curve 7-2 in the seventh so it looks like Nate will get the loss.

Nate Bump gets the call on Sunday against the Curve
Ex-PSU star Nate Bump will be returning to the area this weekend. He’ll get the start against the Altoona Curve as the Connecticut Defenders are in Altoona for a four game series. Former Florida Marlin Bump is trying to make a comeback after being out of baseball for two seasons. Here’s wishing him well in his effort.
