Nate Bump Signed by Detroit Tigers
CAMDEN, NJ – The Camden Riversharks announced today that right handed pitcher Nate Bump has signed a contract with the Detroit Tigers organization. He will join Detroits AAA team, the Toledo Mud Hens of the International League and is slated to pitch on Tuesday against the Louisville Bats.
“This is good news, and I havent been this excited in a really long time,” said Bump, whose 8 wins and 2.63 ERA were the best on Camdens roster. “This is my opportunity, and Ive got to make the most of it now that Ive got it,” he added.
Bump, a former first-round draft pick of the San Francisco Giants, is no stranger to AAA baseball, as he has had multiple stints with the Albuquerque Isotopes, an affiliate of the Florida Marlins. He has also found success at the major league level, pitching for Florida. Most notably, he appeared in 32 games, registering a 4-0 record, with a 4.71 ERA during the 2003 season
