Collegian: Errors doom Lions

Just when the Penn State baseball team finally got a strong pitching performance, its hitting and fielding couldn’t get going.
The Nittany Lions (14-20, 2-7 Big Ten) had three costly errors Sunday that enabled Purdue (20-14, 5-4) to come back for a 4-3 win.
With the Lions leading 3-2 in bottom of the eighth inning, Purdue’s Brad Schreiber was called on to pinch hit with the bases loaded. He hit a sharp ground ball that third baseman Jordan Steranka couldn’t handle, and the tying and go-ahead runs crossed the plate to give Purdue the lead for good.
