David Lutz made the most of his first career start as he pitched a complete game Sunday in the Penn State baseball team's 9-1 win against Michigan State.

By taking the mound, Lutz also tied the school-record for pitching appearances in a single season (29).

The senior got off to a rocky start in the first inning when he allowed a single and hit a batter to begin the game. However, he induced a double play and escaped the inning without allowing any runs.

From there, Lutz settled in and cruised through the full nine innings. He allowed one run on nine hits, while striking out four batters and walking none.
