CDT: Lions continue baseball streak
UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State scored three runs in the first inning on the way to its sixth consecutive Big Ten win as the Nittany Lions topped Iowa 6-2 Friday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
Steve Snyder went 4-for-5 to pace a 10-hit attack and Penn State (21-23 overall, 8-8 Big Ten) rode the right arm of Mike Wannamaker to the win. Wannamaker (4-2) scattered 11 hits, struck out 10 and allowed two runs in eight innings to earn the victory. David Lutz pitched a scoreless ninth.
