• Following a dominating series sweep over Michigan State last weekend, the Penn State baseball team looks to extend its Big Ten winning streak when it hosts Iowa in a trio of games to air live on the Big Ten Network. Gametimes are set for 7 p.m. (Friday), 4 p.m. (Saturday) and 11 a.m. (Sunday).

• Penn State comes into the series with five straight Big Ten victories, its longest streak since April of 2008 when the Lions topped Purdue before winning four straight against Indiana. The last time the squad posted six or more consecutive Big Ten victories was in 2007 when it did so on two occasions.

Nittany Lions begin the second half of their Big Ten schedule against the Spartans.

• The Penn State baseball team looks to knock off its second first-place team in as many weekends when it hosts Michigan State in a key series beginning Friday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spartans (28-11, 7-5 Big Ten) are one of four teams tied atop the Big Ten standings, along with Ohio State, who the Nittany Lions (17-23, 4-8 Big Ten) topped (2-of-3) last weekend. The highlight of the series is Saturday afternoon’s first-annual Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Game.

• Saturday’s game was developed to honor and empower wounded warriors. Its purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service members, to help severely injured men and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs. WWP is a national, apolitical organization headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla. For more, check out the official event web page at GoPSUsports.com/woundedwarrior.

• Coming off the program’s first-ever road series victory at Ohio State, the Penn State baseball team looks to continue the momentum when it hosts La Salle on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. Following a hard-fought 3-1 defeat against Alex Wimmers and the Buckeyes on Friday, the Nittany Lions responded with a pair of wins, scoring a combined 32 runs in the process.

• Penn State hit six home runs in those two games to up its season total to 35, already six more than it had all of last year. Junior Ben Heath had three of them and is now up to 15 on the season, tied for third in school history and only two away from tying the Penn State single-season record of 17.

At this point you’ve heard it for the thousandth time on the radio or over and over again at a party, there’s no escaping one of the hits of the year.

“Tick Tock, on the clock. But the party don’t stop no. Woah-oh oh oh, Woah-oh oh oh.”

And if you’;ve ever been within earshot of the baseball team’;s locker room, you would also be all too familiar with the lyrics as Penn State turns up the iPod and blasts the song after every win.

However, unlike the singer of the party anthem, there was no waking up feeling like P. Diddy and there was no brushing of their teeth with a bottle of Jack (figuratively speaking, of course) for the Nittany Lions after Wednesday night’s loss to Mount St. Mary’s.
